Everything you missed from the Grammy Awards.

Missed the Grammy? Then this is your chance to make up your leeway on everything that happened during this 57th Annual Grammy Awards. If I sum it up I would say there were incredible dresses, a stream of performances, a “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” reference, a speech by Obama, Kanye West’s joke or provocation, Ariana and Big Sean’s cuteness, Celebrities and Red Carpet and obviously Grammys

Versace, Elie Saab, Alexandre Vauthier… Enough choice to please everyone!

Red Carpet also means fashion and celebrities parade; and this year’s Grammy Award ceremony was no exception to this tradition, so here you go, admire a selection of the best dressed celebrities during the events

* Ariana Grande and this exquisite white and silver dress designed by Versace. Following with another Versace products: Gwen Stefani’s black jumpsuit with his asymmetrical structured bodice, which, by the way, suits her perfectly. Taylor Swift decided to show off her legs with her Elie Saab design. The blue gown, purple high heels (by Giuseppe Zanotti) and emerald earrings (by Loraine Schwartz) seem to be the perfect mix for a stunning outfit.

* Beyonce doesn’t just sparkle through her performances, but also through her choice of clothes: for the ceremony she chose a long sleeve, low neckline tulle gown by Proenza Schouler. As for Chrissy Teigen, John Legend’s wife, the choice of this tight white dress won an indisputable success. Finally, Alexandre Vauthier haute couture gown fitted Miley Cyrus perfectly.

Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Sia… All about the performances of the evening

However, all these celebrities don’t just come to sit and watch the show: another tradition of the Grammys is the numerous performances. On Sunday night, more than 30 performers went on stage, beginning with the opening of the ceremony by AC/DC and a medley of their hits. Ariana Grande followed with her version of Just a little bit of your heart” in which she seems like an angel.

You also missed the incredible performance of Chandelier by Sia, in which the dance is flawless and which take us to her world.

Rihanna, Paul McCartney and Kanye West? You can think that the association might be surprising, but the result is really beautiful and seeing the three of them on stage together was one of the awesome highlights of this night.

Speaking of Kanye, he also went on stage alone to perform his tribute to his mother, Only One, performance that was particularly noticed because of the absolute silence in the audience.

Hands Up Don’t Shoot – Black lives Matter

During these performances, we were also able to see a demonstration of the gesture “Hands Up Don’t Shoot”, sadly famous since the death of Michael Brown, 18, killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.

We owe this tribute to Pharrell Williams, winner of three Grammys (best urban contemporary album, best music video and best pop performance), who put his hands up at the latter end of his performance. He was followed by his back up dances all wearing black hoodies to relate to Trayvon Martin, 17, shot by a police officer.

This tribute was then followed by Prince intervention: when he came on stage to announce the Album of the Year Award, he said, “Albums — you remember those? They still matter. Like books and black lives, they still matter”.

Then it was John Legend and Common’s turn to express themselves about this matter through the choice of song: Glory, song written for Selma, a movie about the civil rights movement in Selma in the 1960s.

Finally, it was Beyonce and her dancers who raised their hands during her performance of Take my Hand, Precious Lord.

“It’s not ok and it has to stop” Barack Obama at the Grammys

After the serious tone that took the Grammy Award on Sunday with the demonstration of the motto Black Lives Matter, it was Barack Obama’s turn to make an appearance. All right, I admit he wasn’t actually present at the ceremony, but he appeared in a video message.

He promoted the campaign It’s On Us against violence towards women and girls. The president of the United States declared that 1 out of 5 women in the USA has been a victim of rape or attempted rape; and that more than 1 in 4 woman has experienced some form of domestic violence.

He added, “Artists have a unique power to change minds and attitude and get us thinking and talking about what matters” and called them to join his campaign to ask their fans to do it to, in order to create a culture were violence isn’t tolerated.

Kanye West – Joke or provocation? You choose

It was a big moment of the ceremony; Prince presented the Album of the Year winner at the same time as he paid tribute to the motto BlackLivesMatter; but this didn’t seem to stop Kanye West.

As Beck, winner of this award, went on stage, Kanye decided to approach the scene at the same time. Does it remind you of something? Yes, you’re right the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 when Kanye West came on stage, interrupted Taylor Swift and shouted "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!"

Luckily, this time was different; he held his finger towards beck then quickly jumped down of stage. It could have seemed like a joke in the moment, but he later admitted that Beyonce should have won this Grammy, but also that he wouldn’t do anything to put his daughter at risk. He added that it was his job to "fight for creativity".

To end on a softer note: Ariana Grande and Big Sean

Internet became crazy during and after the ceremony. The reason of that hysteria? The couple formed by Ariana Grande and her boyfriend and rapper Big Sean. It is true that there relationship was exposed everywhere on social media before Sunday, but their appearance and their love, made it even bigger.

I’m not going to lie, it’s not without reason: their appearance on the red carpet, full of complicity; but also the Instagram pictures that they both put up with pictures of them backstage.
